Training Programme
Training Programme
Ealing Dolphins is the largest of the four sections of Ealing Swimming Club. We are a competitive swimming club and we offer a ‘Learn To Swim Programme’ for children aged five and upwards through to a ‘Development Swimming Programme’ for swimmers aged seven to seventeen based at Gurnell Leisure Centre which boasts one of the few 50m pools in the country.
As part of Ealing Swimming Club we are committed to excellence in our coaching of swimmers. Our aim is to enable every swimmer to realize their potential whether it is simply to achieve good technique on all four competitive strokes or to achieve success at National or International levels.
To this end all our staff are Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) qualified teachers / coaches. Many of these are ex club swimmers who along with volunteer staff attempt to give back to swimming much of the benefits they have received.
Progression from one group to the next is based on ability. That ability is continuously assessed and formally assessed at the end of each term. From Bronze; Silver; Gold or Platinum groups there is a clear pathway into the ‘SQUAD’ PROGRAMME. Access to this programme is based on ability, desire and potential.
The various groups in Dolphins are;
Learn to swim
Bronze Group
Silver Group
Gold Group
Platinum Group
All teaching follows the National Teaching Plan

Anyone wishing to join the club, if already a swimmer, must come down for an assessment on any Friday evening for 20.15. The assessment fee is £5.00. If there is space in the club at the ability level of the swimmer then we can offer you a place immediately. Otherwise you will be placed on our waiting list.
Anyone with children under 5 years of age you are advised to put your child’s name on our waiting list so they can be called into our Learn to Swim Programme at the age of 5.
For further information, please visit one of the Friday sessions between 8:00pm and 8:30pm and speak to the Membership Officer at the pool’s reception desk or contact Jan Wright (tel: 020 8995 1816) email:wrightpartners@blueyonder.co.uk
