At the second weekend of the Middlesex Age Group Championships, Ealing added seventeen gold, fifteen silver and fourteen bronze medals to their already large tally in these championships and smashed two further County records. The weekend’s sessions, held at Enfield, featured 100m, 200m and 400m events and there were individual age bands up to 17years and over.
Tariq Miller (16) performed well, winning golds in the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, and 200m freestyle and a silver in the 400m medley. Georgina Heyn (23) broke the existing County record of 1.11.29 in the 100 breaststroke which she won in a time of 1.10.78 and the 200m breaststroke record of 2.33.84 which she won in 2.31.90. She also came third in the 200m freestyle which was won by Natalie Durant (17) who dropped her previous best time of 2.20.90 to 1.59.79. Eamon Haroun (11) won both the 400m freestyle and the 200m medley and brother Ramsey (15) took gold in the 400m medley. Eamon also came second in the 200m backstroke as did Ramsey in the 200m freestyle. The Coker brothers – Ade (11) and Melako (14) also both won gold medals – Ade for the 200m backstroke and Melako for the 100m breaststroke, with Ade also taking the silver in the 200m breaststroke and 200m medley and Melako gaining bronzes in the 200m breaststroke, 200m medley and 100m backstroke. Alex Bandarian (12) achieved gold in the 200m medley and four bronzes – for the 100m and 200m breaststroke, and the 100m and 200m backstroke. James Crawford (19) won the 200m butterfly with Luke Shewring (17) second, and came second in the 200m freestyle and his brother Daniel (16) won silver medals in the 100m and 200m butterfly and bronzes in the 100m breaststroke and 400m medley.Polly Kemp-King (15) won the 200m freestyle and came second in the 100m butterfly while Lauren Turner (14) took gold in the 200m freestyle, Edward Howard (15) won the 200m butterfly and Joao Matias (21) was first in the 100m butterfly.
Silver medals were gained by Tom Brommage (13) – 100m and 200m breaststroke; Jenna Turner (17) 200m freestyle; Maisie Jameson (9) - 200m backstroke and Ramzey Crawford (17) – 400m medley. Bronze medals won by Zak Shafique (14) – 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle; Sebastien Bordonnat (12) – 400m freestyle and Cathy Surey (14) – 200m butterfly.
Swimmers who gained places in the top eight of events were: Amirah Miller (13) (five events); Georgia Watt (13) (4 events); Sebastien Bordonnat (three events); Tom Brommage, Hannah Cierebiej-Jeffery (12), Charlotte Fairclough (13), Louise Howard (12), Laura McDonnell (12), Aaron Pullen (10), and Cathy Surey, (two events) and Rebecca Arch (11), Alex Bandarian, Ade Coker, Emma Curran (17), Ramzey Crawford, Ramsey Haroun, David Hickman (17), Edward Howard, Jed Neill (13), Emily Orrock (17), Ellie Price (14), Rohan Singh (11), and Lucy Thornton (9).
